My sculpture starts with me and mine. I strive to enlarge the idea to include you and yours. My best work is about us.

My work revolves around everything in our world. The idea for an image can begin with a suggestion from a client, a billboard on the way to the studio or a block of stone with an interesting shape. My best images will outgrow this meager beginning as I become obsessed.

I use the human figure almost exclusively in my sculpture. It is the best dialect in the language of art to talk about people things. I admit that slightly deranged birds and abstract architectural elements have been invading my visual vocabulary lately, but I’m pretty sure it’s not my fault.
